The Capital City Ringers Handbell Ensemble
W E L C O M E !
Celebrating our 25th Anniversary Season!
From Bach and Mozart, to Glenn Miller and Leroy Anderson, to Elvis and Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the Capital City Ringers (the other 'CCR') continually amazes audiences with their flashy style and musical diversity.
Comments, such as, "I never knew handbells could do that!" and "Wow!" are often heard after CCR's performances. Drums, bass guitar, and keyboards add to the rich, musical texture of handbells and chimes, from classical, jazz, sacred, and blues, to rock-and-roll and original works. Be sure to attend a concert to see (and hear) mid-Michigan's most exciting handbell ensemble for yourself!
What they're saying...
"Bravo on an absolutely gorgeous CD ... and, of course, HUGE KUDOS to their director for instilling musicality and finesse into their playing. . . . . . Some descriptive words as I was listening to "Reunir": clean, clear, musical, nice tempos, and very expressive. I LOVE the last two measures . . . WOW!"
Dr. William A. Payn - composer/arranger/conductor, Dept. of Music, Bucknell University
"IT'S SHOWTIME! is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! . . . just finished listening to your impeccable performance. You are truly one of the very few ensembles performing today who actually make MUSIC in this idiom! . . . Thank you for such a lift at the end of a drab, routine day! Blessings.
Douglas E. Wagner - composer/arranger
The Capital City Ringers are proudly celebrating 25 years of bringing handbell music to the Lansing area community and beyond. This historic 2008-2009 season is featuring several musical pieces that have been our favorites over the years, as well as several new and exciting pieces to help launch us into the next quarter-century. CCR was one of the first community handbell ensembles to pioneer the concept of doubling the bass lines with the 6th octave low bass chimes as well as adding keyboard, drums and bass guitar to the ensemble. Be sure to catch one of our concerts and help us celebrate as we "Rock Around the Clock!"
